2026 Awards Luncheon
Juanita Haugen, a nationally known public schools advocate and the longest-serving member ever of the Pleasanton school board, would be proud that the Community of Character program she established has become an ingrained part of our community. The program, established in 2008, recognizes those who consistently model high ethical and moral standards of behavior, including responsibility, compassion, self-discipline, honesty, respect and integrity.

Each year we honor a selection of individuals, organizations and students in Pleasanton that have gone above and beyond to model the values of the Pleasanton Community of Character. High School students modeling these values are granted scholarships from the Juanita Haugen Memorial Scholarship Fund to help them further their education.

Our 2026 event will be held on Wednesday, May 13th, at the Veterans Hall in Pleasanton. Tickets are $45.
2026 Summer BBQ Fundraiser
Join us for our annual Summer BBQ and fundraiser. An evening of delicious food, great music and lots of fun.
​
This event raises funds to support our Juanita Haugen Scholarship fund. Each year we award seniors from Amador Valley High School, Foothill High School and Village High School with scholarships to help with the next steps in their careers. These scholarships are awarded to students that exhibit excellent character in their daily lives and value giving back to our community.
