(Pleasanton, September 9, 2009) The Pleasanton Community of Character Collaborative announced today that they will host Pillars of Tri-Valley on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, in Pleasanton, California. Pillars of Tri-Valley provides a unique opportunity for non-profits to recruit volunteer board leadership to their organizations. The event runs from 4-7 pm and will be held at Carr America Cafeteria, 4400 Rosewood Drive, Pleasanton, CA 94588.
At Pillars of Tri-Valley, community members will be able to meet with the leadership of dozens of Tri-Valley non-profits to discuss opportunities to contribute their skills and experience to the valuable work they are doing in our community. The goal of Pillars of Tri-Valley is to match community-minded individuals with the nonprofit organizations that play such a vital role in the Tri-Valley community. Attendees include qualified employees from leading corporations in the community, including PG&E, Robert Half International, Comerica Bank, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and Bay East Association of Realtors.
“This is a unique opportunity to bring together community leaders with non-profits,” said Ellen Pensky, president of the Pleasanton Community of Character Collaborative. “Pillars of Tri-Valley gives community members with vision and experience the chance to find the non-profit organization that matches their passions, and ultimately contribute their unique skills to the valuable work non-profits are doing.”
Nonprofits are applying to be exhibitors at the Pillars of Tri-Valley event at www.trivalleypillars.com. Exhibitors will also have the opportunity to attend a free pre-event training designed to get their board recruitment process in shape and prepare them to get the most out of the event. Training will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 29th, 8:30 am – 1:00 pm at the Pleasanton Unified School District offices, Bernal Room, 4665 Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton 94566.
